Great show how to video
I usually throw it in after gently starting a whirlpool vortex. But why is it scary?
Thanks for the advice! Not scary, it’s a user error. I usually throw it in at the boil but there are better ways like you suggested. Cheers 🍻
Nice to see the trusty BM still going strong in the new brewery, which looks amazing btw 🍻 I need a new pH tool with better temperature correction, the one you use at 07:24 - is that the Milwaukee MW102 PRO+ ? It seems to do what I need and a lot faster than my current pH meter, which is also limited to 60°C.
BM is a awesome machine! The PH meter is indeed a Milwaukee MW102 PRO+ 2-in-1 pH and Temperature Meter with ATC. Cheers 🍻
Don't you get all the dry hops material in the bottle ?
No, everything settled down in de Braumeister using a Wirhlfloc tablet. I only transfer the clean wort. Cheers 🍻
That's looking good! Did you back sweeten the cider?
Thanks, yes I did back sweet it a bit with a “7 up” lookalike limonade. Tasty it is 👍🏼😄
How do you oxigenate the wort?
Nicely done brew by the way. Nothing beats a fresh homebrew made with this level of care.
Adding oxygen after just splashing the wort into the fermenter it’s not necessary to add more oxygen us using dry yeast right of the package. When reused, after harvesting it’s necessary for sure but even after minimal doing it I had great results in the past. Not with this fermenter, BT sells a “oxygenation kit” for it but again, not necessary for most of the dry yeast. Cheers 🍻
@@homebeerbrewery yeah I've never had major issues and I usually don't re-use yeast but after a Bohemian Pilsner of mine turned out a bit too sweet, I considered buying an aeration kit for my Miniuni. That would also allow me to brew big beers like Barkey Wines which I love.
Happy to have you back! Happy you're happy to be brewing again. Gotta catch up on your latest vids..🇺🇸🍻🇺🇸
Thanks for the kind comment, cheers from NL 😉🍺🍺🍺🍺
How often do you have an infection in your brews?
In 15 years I had 1 serious infection, about 12 years ago. Using 5 star products like starsan or saniclean as a sanitizer it’s almost impossible anymore. Work clean and get everything sanitized. Why? Cheers 🍺
Why did you add it that late??
It’s the beginning of the boil stage? You do it different?
@@homebeerbrewery after sparging and before heating to boil... unless I forget to do it on time.
Good advice, thanks! 🙏 Cheers 🍺
@marcschmid5983 Thank you for the good advice again, cheers 🍻
Hi Glenn, could you please advise where to buy the ‘wall mounted CO2 ports” which you have installed at the very bottom right of your board? I couldn’t find them on the web. Thanks.
Will look it up, it was not simple to buy as it is, I figured something out myself using parts from kegland. Hang on, will check. Cheers 🍻
This is for sure a good accessory as is the steam condensor. Hence the boilkettle in my 3v herms is a brewtools kettle.
You are by far the best home brewer i've seen . love to see how the pilsner settles down after a couple of weeks in the keg
Nice to see you back Glenn. Your videos were how I started AG brewing and I still have my BM20. Your audio was very low on this video sadly.
I know about the audio troubles, it’s the ventilation hood. Will try something different next time. Cheers and thanks for the comment! 🍺
You really need to feel it as well..video doesn't really make it justice...top quality 👍
Thanks for sharing ... nice brew day. ... No need for 90min boil tho, I do 30min even with Pilsner malt ... no issues 😉
I often hear about the short boil times, will give it a try next brewday for sure. Thanks for the advice! Cheers
There is just something so satisfying seeing the good old braumeister in work
Indeed 🤭
Man I wish we could smell through the internet because I imagine that brewery smells amazing on brew day
I love this videos! Greetings from Argentina!
Thanks for the Video 👍. I use Braumeister 20l. How do you filter the wort from the hops before pumping into the fermenter?
I use a whirlfloc tablet 10 min left on the boil, after cooling just let the trub settle on bottom. Result is Cristal clear wort right to pump out the normal spigot or ball valve, I tilt te BM a bit and when the wort isn’t clear at the very end I stop the transfer. Works for me. 🍻 cheers
So, how is the BM vs B80, just press the button and done? :) I think it's still makes sense to use the BM for easy brews regardless of some comments. I have the newer version with the cooling jacket incorporated within the BM and also a wort pumping device, so I can use less external tools.
Over the years, thats stuck with me; “nothing is better than a good homebrew”!! Too right man, agreed 🍻 #insta
Dream setup Glen
Great video! You sir are a class act. Very impressive new brewery!
Hello Glen from Tasmania Australia where it is 'minus 14C' '-14C' mid winter down here and it is a cold one, if you want crystal clear beer try Biofine in your kegs, I pulled out the dip tubes and replaced them with floating dip tubes so it draws beer from the top of the keg, 30ml of biofine mixed in the top of the beer in the keg and your beer will be crystal clear in 24 hours, biofine is much better than Gelatin too
Thanks for all the good advice! Cheers 🍺
A very well deserved brew! Lovely work. Most impressed with the fermenter , the scales! and the waste dump.
You have a fabulous brewing space mate. Interested to learn why you bought a B80 when you had a BM capable of similar sizes?
I purchased the Brewtools B80 just to explore the system, love it but can’t sell the good Braumeister as well 😉 Cheers
@@homebeerbrewery I'd love your job, it must pay very well - you have some beautiful gear (not too mention brewery).
@DrunkDelilahBrewery I am just good in saving money, and remember I always sell stuff again after use. My job pays well but nothing special 😉 Cheers
@@homebeerbrewery 🤣🤣🤣 - Teach me how to save !!! lol. Nice work.
No more B80?
Yes I still own the B80, just a batch with the BM again 😋
1st. class Glenn, great set up, thanks!
Awesome video as ever, could you do a short or a quick run through on your setup especially the gas board you built, it looks really good.
Thank you Glenn for another great video. Like you I have now puchased a Grainfather mill and I am very pleased with the crush. I tried setting 5 initially but a much better result for me in my Speidel BRAUMEISTER was the number 6 setting. I notice you are not using your BAC Brewing plates. Did you have a reason for not using them. I love your fermenter, it makes everything very easy. Cheers mate keep up the great videos.
It's great to see you again Glenn. Awesome looking pilsner. Cheers!
Magnificent video. I would like to know where you got the stainless steel coil to cool the wort. thank you and greetings.
Thanks you, the immersion chiller is custom made and not for sale anywhere unfortunately 😔 Cheers and thanks for the kind comment.
Great to see you back. You were the first homebrew channel that I subscribed to. One thing, it was difficult to hear you on occasion. Hope it is ok saying that. Looking forward to more brew days 😀
What can you say about the Brewmeister VS Brewtools after using both of them? (Regarding the kettles, not fermenters)
Brewtools is much more complex, more expensive vs Braumeister and in my opinion the way of mashing with the Braumeister is unique. A “set and forget” system you can walk away… Brewtools is very modular, you can setup and build the system like you like totally have, modification of a Braumeister is minimal. I brewed twice with the BT and looked forward to a brew day with the Braumeister again, with I did recently, video will be live in a couple of days grain to glass. I will make a comparison video soon. Cheers
@homebeerbrewery Thank you for your reply. As a beginner , I went with the Brewmeister 50l first, as from what I've heard the Brewtools indeed has more flexibility but a little bit complicated at least for the beginner. But with the fermenters I've ordered brewtools F150 (3 pieces :)) Waiting for the comparison video, again thanks.
Самое тупорылое виде. Полная жопа ьезполезнвя
Love the video man! Cheers
Se avete fortuna vi mandano una dinamo da bicicletta . Poi non riuscirete più a contattarli .
Wow thats a sweet setup 😋
Oh man that looks just like a super drop fantastic.......
outstanding ... thx
Ya gotta love the BM.❤
Good ol' Braumeister ❤
Good to see you back on RUclips, I liked your old brewery but the new one looks awesome. Why are you kind of going back to the good old Speidel? Just curious, because I am struggling to change from a 10l Speidel to the Brewtools B40 because of its complexity.
In my opinion, BT is complex. With a Speidel you can dough in , make everything ready to mash and go, don’t look to it, it’s not necessary, plenty of time to do other stuff. Boiling: when using high protein, like wheat malt, it burns the elements on the BT if you don’t take multiple extra steps, everything you have to think about with a BT. The heating elements on the BT are way to powerful for the density. Of course you can BUY extra to avoid this and a work around but hey sometimes it’s enough what you purchase. The cooling process takes forever too, with a BT, otherwise the possibility to do a whirlpool directly is awesome, but you need a extra accessoires like a adjustable dip tube to maintain a good whirlpool after cooling to form a “cone” but jou want it also upwards during cooling… conclusion : Brewtools is awesome, like a Ferrari to drive with but you will stil drive from a to pont b with a old car………… cheers mate 😉🍻
Fair feedback, thanks for that. I think I will stick to the BM and upgrade from 10l to a larger one. Looking forward to your next videos, learned a lot from it. 👍🏻
Waar in het land zit jij ergens als ik vragen mag?
In het oosten van het land 😊
@@homebeerbrewery haha zonde, dat is altijd al ruim een uur van waar ik gepositioneerd ben 😅 ik zit in het zuiden
The beers looks fantastic keep up the good work 👍
Very nice colour to that beer. Looking forward for the brew day video
...or you could put a hex socket attachment on the drill that is the same size as the bolt and then you don't have to cut the bolt and you don't have the weight of the drill pulling on your mill.
